Ex- Doctor Accused of Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Patients
Prosecutors have stated that a former doctor now faces charges for carrying out assaults against 38 individuals who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – comprising some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
A senior prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Police Inquiry
The charges come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
Breakdown of Offences
Prosecutors said the forty-five charges he is charged with:
- 15 counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
