According to new allegations from a whistleblower, Ghislaine Maxwell, now completing a 20-year prison term for sex-trafficking crimes, is reportedly preparing a clemency request for review by the Trump administration.

Special Treatment Alleged at Federal Prison

Congressional Democrats on the House judiciary committee revealed that a source provided information indicating Maxwell is preparing the commutation application. Additionally, they mentioned she has been receiving special treatment at the federal prison camp in the Lone Star State.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the House judiciary committee, declared in a official statement that the facility's chief was assisting the convict with document preparation and submission to support her bid for clemency.

The exact content of the “commutation application” are unknown, the congressman noted.

Claimed Perks and Custom Arrangements

Raskin states that, according to the whistleblower, the prisoner has been given specially prepared food that are hand-delivered to her cell, and the warden has individually organized exclusive visits for her and her guests.

The visits allegedly include a “special cordoned-off area” for attendees and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her associates.

Those visiting Maxwell were also reportedly permitted to carry electronic devices, which Raskin described as an exceptional measure given the security risk and chance of unsupervised contact.

In one alleged instance, when communications failed for other prisoners, Maxwell was given specific instructions about instructing her associates to contact and how staff would connect the communication to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The whistleblower further reportedly told House Democrats that when the convict wanted to examine and modify papers promptly, she reportedly employed the official as her private aide.

The statement states that those writing to her would email documents directly to the warden, who would hand them over to Maxwell, who would review and edit them and provide them back to the warden to digitize and send to the initial correspondent.

Extra Benefits Reported

Further perks allegedly granted to her include opportunities to interact with a service dog puppy – a benefit typically prohibited – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the prison exercise area.

Maxwell’s attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding the insider's allegations.

Through a spokesperson, the presidential office said that it “will not discuss” on possible pardon appeals.

“As President Trump has stated, granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has considered,” the representative added.

Recent Background

Recently, it was reported that Maxwell told friends and family in emails from prison that she was “much happier” at the Texas facility than her previous prison.

In August, she was moved from a secure facility in Florida's capital to the minimum-security camp in the state, where most detainees are serving time for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

The transfer, which experts described as “unprecedented”, occurred just days after she was interviewed about the Epstein case by the senior justice official, the official, who also previously served as Donald Trump's personal lawyer.

That interview came as the Trump administration was facing increasing scrutiny to release more documents related to the ongoing probe and amid intense speculation around Trump's own connections to the fallen billionaire and convicted sex offender, who was found deceased in custody in that year while facing trial on trafficking accusations.

Congressional Response

Through the statement, Raskin also announced that he had dispatched a communication to the President, requesting explanations about the insider's claims, and called on the president to reject the clemency appeal.

“You should not grant any type of pardon to this convicted and unrepentant sex offender,” Raskin wrote in the letter. “Your Administration should not be providing her with room service, with puppies to play with, with government agents attending to her requests, or with any preferential handling or institutional privilege at all.”

Raskin requested that the official attend a public congressional hearing to address the disclosures and also presented several inquiries to the President.

Raskin asked whether Trump had discussed a potential commutation for Maxwell with the official or others, whether he had instructed Blanche or anyone else to arrange her with the move or favorable and preferential treatment in prison, and whether she, her lawyers, relatives or representatives have made any commitments to Trump or his attorneys.

The representative requested for a response to the questions by the specified date.

Last month, the US supreme court declined to hear an petition from the convict on her trafficking verdict.
