Monarch to Share Intimate Address on Cancer in TV Address
The Monarch has recorded a first-hand account about his experience with cancer, scheduled for transmission as part of this year's Stand Up To Cancer initiative, run by Cancer Research UK and a television broadcaster.
Buckingham Palace said the King would talk about his "path to recovery" as a cancer patient, in a video message on Friday evening at 20:00 GMT.
The recording, recorded at a royal residence two weeks ago, will emphasise the vital significance of preventative health checks to help guarantee more people diagnose the condition at an initial point.
This will be a uncommon insight on the medical condition of the King, who has been undergoing regular treatment since the news was shared in February 2024. But it is thought unlikely the King will disclose his particular diagnosis.
Awareness Central Purpose
The annual charity event each year generates donations for clinical trials and patient care and urges people to get check-ups to increase the odds of an prompt identification.

The programme will appeal to the estimated nine million people in the UK who charities estimate are not compliant with NHS screening schemes, with an digital tool to let people check if they are qualified for tests for several common cancers.
In an attempt to explain screenings and demonstrate the benefit of early diagnosis there will be a direct feed from hospital departments at two Cambridge hospitals in Cambridge.
"I want to remove the anxiety surrounding health checks and demonstrate the public that they are not on their own in this," commented Davina McCall.
Understanding National Services
Currently in the UK, there are several key publicly available checks - for major health concerns - available to specific demographics.
A emerging preventative initiative is also being phased in for people at increased risk of being diagnosed with the illness, specifically targeting people aged 55-74 years old, who currently smoke or used to.
Men may discuss specific tests, but there is no national programme currently available.
Funding Research
The fundraising project, which has raised £113m over the past decade, is financing dozens of research studies with many patients.
King Charles, in a message for guests at a reception for support groups in the spring, had spoken of understanding the "intimidating and at times alarming situation" for patients and their loved ones.
But he stated his personal journey of coping with cancer had shown him that "periods of great challenge of sickness can be alleviated by the support of carers," as he thanked those who supported individuals with the illness.
Official sources has not disclosed the specific type of cancer the King has, or the therapies he has been given. The King's cancer was discovered subsequent to he had had a routine operation.
