New Information Come to Light Regarding the Location of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Bodies
Fresh particulars have surfaced regarding the untimely deaths of acclaimed director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were discovered at their Los Angeles home home on Sunday.
The Initial Report
As detailed in an account citing a person close to the family, a therapist scheduled for an session initially became concerned after not being able to enter the home. The practitioner then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides nearby.
When she went into the residence, Romy found her father's body. It is said she then left the home distraught, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Her roommate who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Afterward, paramedics found Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Legal Developments
Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of first-degree murder, along with the charge related to a weapon, reportedly a knife. He is currently being held and denied bail.
Correcting the Record
The confidential informant questioned several earlier details. They said that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a detached unit on the estate, she did not identify him as a suspect at that moment.
Furthermore pushed back against widely reported suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "apprehensive" about Nick's behavior in the weeks leading up to the incident. Rather the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."
The statement also extends to descriptions of alleged "unpredictable" conduct by Nick at a party held by Conan O'Brien on the night before the discovery. Although the source noted they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they said that claims of a "blow-up" between the two were not correct.
Investigation Timeline
According to law enforcement officials, the coroner had yet to determine at that point whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Preliminary media reports suggested the state of their bodies suggested they had been dead for a period of time.
Nick Reiner was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the residence. He was set to appear in court on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, said his client had a medical issue and would not be present until no sooner than Wednesday.
