Nineteen of the Russian's 21 championships have been achieved on hardcourt
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial trophy for 882 days with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a ex- world number one, has experienced a challenging season, managing just one match at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.
The player's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in specific - resulted in him falling of the top ten and finally parting ways with long-time coach his previous coach.
Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set triumph over opponent Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial title since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface from spring of 2023.
Success also indicates he has won twenty-one victories at 21 distinct tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a title is really nice," stated world number 14 the champion.
"This title is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the first title I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six title deciders, featuring in that event previously this season.
Medvedev's counter-punching approach and regular emotional displays on the playing surface had led observers to question if his capacity to compete at the top level was finished.
However the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, striving to approach the net and compete positively, backed up by an improved serving game.
The champion recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging opponent, securing 4 of the final five points to take the lead.
Both players swapped service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial tour championship, seized the initiative to create a decider.
He saved 4 initial chances in a close deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to close out the victory.
Suitably, the winner secured victory with a shot at the net, with his opponent unable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
